Island Structures Engineering was founded by William R. Schlumpf in the early 1980’s with the goal of servicing the commercial and industrial sector. It has since grown to encompass the practice of civil and structural engineering, architecture, and the project and construction management of municipal projects and similar facilities. The firm currently consists of design professionals licensed in multiple states, as well as a detail oriented design/support staff. The firm is located in West Islip, New York in a new state of the art facility, with room to expand and grow into the future.  Our office utilizes AutoCAD 2014, and additional programs such as STAAD Pro for the design of complicated structures.  We also have in-house wide format plotting and printing capabilities.  Our licensed engineers and architects are involved with professional affiliations such as The National Society of Professional Engineers, The American Society of Civil Engineers, The American Institute of Architects, The Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico and The National Fire Protection Association.

Island Structures, Inc., our associated construction firm has over 30 years of experience, specifically related to structural iron working and pre-engineered metal building systems.  This association and experience provides Island with the unique ability to perform engineering for such projects in a cost effective manner with an emphasis on constructability and the practical aspects associated with field requirements.
